Pick a gentle cleansing lotion. We recommend lotions over creams because they are lighter on the skin. All you need to do is massage a coin sized amount of cleanser into the skin and wipe it off with a cotton wipe. The cleansers we recommend are:

The Body Shop Seaweed Purifying Facial Cleanser
Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm
Biotique Bio Berry Hydrating Cleanser
Lakme Gentle And Soft Deep Pore Cleansing Milk

Along with a cleansing lotion, also get your hands on a good facewash. Try getting one with salicylic acid because it helps prevent breakouts, if you are prone to acne. If you have hyper sensitive skin, then get a medicated one like Cetaphil. If you have dry skin then get a moisturizing facewash like the one from the Vitamin E range of The Body Shop. After your done with wiping off the cleansing lotion with a cotton wipe, use this foaming formula to get rid of any dirt and grime from the skin. The face washes we recommend are:

Neutrogena Deep Clean Foaming Cleanser
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
Pond’s White Beauty Face Wash

Toning is important for 2 things – helps wipe off whatever leftover product is on the skin (even post cleansing) and for closing the pores. It is advisable to get an alcohol free toner as it is less drying on skin. Try using the Kiehl’s toner – it is completely alcohol free. Alternatively, a toner that we completely swear by is Rose Water. Get a bottle of Dabur Gulabari or some organic Rose Water and use this as your toner. This is suitable for all skin types. After using a face wash, pat dry your skin. Then use a toner on a cotton pad and pat it into the skin. The Toner’s we recommend are:
ZA Total Hydration Toner
Kiehl’s Rare Earth Pore Refining Toner
Dabur Gulabari Rose Water
Kama Ayurveda Pure Rose Water

Moisturizing is essential as it keeps skin hydrated, nourished and adds a healthy glow. But picking the right moisturizer is important. For instance if you have oily skin, then look for one which says non-comedogenic on the packaging. If you have sensitive skin, then look for one that’s fragrance free. If you have dry skin, then try something with Vitamin E. If your skin starts to break out or you feel irritation immediately stop using the moisturizer as it may not be suiting you.  Use moisturizer after toning your skin. Take some and warm it between your finger tips and massage into the skin. Moisturizers we recommend are:

Overnight Face Mask

An overnight face mask is a great way to indulge in a mini facial at home, while you are asleep. Overnight face masks can help you get hydrated, glowing skin very easily. It’s literally your key to waking up glowing!

The one’s that we recommend are:

Lakme Absolute Skin Gloss Overnight Mask
Olay Regenerist Luminous Overnight Facial Mask Gel
The Body Shop Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask

Alternatively, if you are worried to try an overnight mask then we suggest using Aloe Vera Gel on your face. This is natural and also can be used as a facial mask. The ones we recommend are:

Aroma Treasures Aloe Vera Gel
Just Herbs Aloe Vera Facial Massage Gel
A Facial Scrub

It’s important to invest in a good scrub as skin needs to get rid of the dead layer but without any damage. Scrubs again are different for different skin types. But try and get one that doesn’t have extremely big granules. You can alternatively also make a scrub at home – All you need is a little bit of coffee, some sugar and milk. Use this as a scrub and wash off. This is suitable for any skin type. We recommend the following facial scrubs:

The Body Shop Tea Tree Squeaky-Clean Scrub
Neutrogena Deep Clean Black Head Eliminating Scrub
H2O Plus Aqualibrium Sea Mineral Scrub

What goes inside

Whatever you eat or drink is visible on your skin. This is a time when you want to flush out toxins as much as possible. We recommend the following beverages:

This point is extremely basic, and yet we tend to skip it. The more water you have, better it is for your skin.

Wheatgrass Juice

This doesn’t taste the best, but is probably the best thing you can feed your skin with. Wheatgrass juice is the juice of the shoots and grass on the sowed wheat seeds.  This is excellent for blemished skin as it has purifying properties. It also takes care of any other skin allergies. And its detoxifying. Just have a small glass of this juice first thing in the morning, after brushing. We recommend buying this wheatgrass powder:

While everyone consumed it for its weight loss properties, Green Tea can actually be excellent for skin. It is a rich source of anti-oxidants which keep skin looking young and glowing. Just have a cup about an hour post any meal. We recommend the following green teas:

Tetley green tea with Honey & Lemon
 White Tea

This is literally tea for skin! It has barely any caffeine in it. It is less processed vs green tea and has more catechins too. Catechins protect skin from sun damage, delay ageing signs and help maintain the elasticity of skin. Have a cup of this at night before you sleep. We recommend the following white teas:

Chamraj Finest Nilgiri Tea – White Tea
