Quantity- 125 ml
Texture

The balm is white in color and has a solid petroleum jelly kind of texture. It transforms from a solid balm to an oil upon application.

Fragrance

It does not have a fragrance initially. However, after prolonged use a mild chemical like smell is noticed.

How To Use

There are many ways in which one can use this product. Enlisted here are the steps involved in the method which I personally find the best.

Step 1

Splash water on the face 3 to 4 times.

Step 2

With the help of a cotton swab or cotton pad take some of the product from the jar in a swiping kind of motion. The amount of product is directly proportional to the amount of makeup you have on.

Step 3

With the help of the cotton swab dipped in product, start wiping the base makeup off gradually moving towards eyelids, under eyes and lips.

Step 4

Splash water on the face 3 to 4 times.

Step 5

Then get rid of the oily residue with some foaming cleanser or face wash.

Pros

Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm helps melt away makeup with a lot of ease and hence results in a squeaky clean face.

Post use you will be left with a healthy glow on the face and in the long run you will see your skin texture become better and better.

The pores on the face feel thoroughly cleansed post using the balm.

The product lasts for a long time. On a daily basis use it could last for almost a year.

The cleansing balm does not aggravate existing acne or give rise to acne if the oily residue post makeup removal is cleaned properly.

The product does not causing burning or irritation and thus is suitable for sensitive skin.

It is an ophthalmologist tested product.

Cons

To remove stubborn makeup such as waterproof mascara or long wear matte lipsticks, baby oil and cotton bud method (Click here for a demo) is recommended. I do not like the idea of excessively rubbing the eyelashes and lips with a cotton swab as it could feel slightly harsh on the skin.

You will have to go over with face wash or foaming cleanser post using this balm. The balm leaves behind an oily residue that could attract acne.

The product is pricey.

Verdict

The product’s lasting power covers up for its high price. I have used makeup removers in the past and have never seen base makeup come off as efficiently and quickly with this one. Hence if you are ready to go high end on a makeup remover then we totally recommend investing in Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm.

We also recommend buying this directly from a Clinique Store. Click here to locate your nearest store.
