Lip pencils are great for defining ones lips, making lipstick last longer, wearing beneath lip gloss for a hint of color, increasing opacity of lipstick or simply wearing it as the only lipcolor. Here we are reviewing the Colorbar Definer Lip Liner pencils.
Colorbar is one of our favourite brands for lip products. We’ve purchased four lip pencils from the brand. Read on to find out our thoughts about them.
The range is called ColorBar Definer Lip Liner. It has 13 beautiful shades of lip liners.
The outer packaging is a silver rectangular box with the shade name indicated on one of the sides.
Lip pencils come in two forms; the rollout-and-use kind of packaging and the pencil form of packaging. The ColorBar lip pencils are in the pencil form.
It is very important to sharpen lip pencils with a sharpener from the same brand as the lip pencil. Sharpening with other sharpeners could result in damaging the nib and the front and would hence obstruct smooth application. ColorBar gets this. Hence they’ve provided a sharpener with the lip pencil. It is attached to the lid of the pencil itself.
The name of the shade is printed on the pencil as well as indicated at the bottom of the pencil.

The shades that we have purchased are 004 Berry Rose, 009 Cocktail Peach, 006 Creamy Nude and 001 Clear Red.
Berry Rose is a deep pink. Cocktail Peach is a lovely peachy-corally kind of shade. Creamy Nude is an excellent nude lip color for medium to fair skin tones. Clear Red is the perfect crimson red lip color.
Texture and Finish
The lip pencils have a moist-matte sort of texture. The slight creaminess enables smooth application. However, in case of overly dry lips, a lip balm prior to the pencil is recommended.
The color pay off is excellent. One or two swipes gives super opaque color. It completely changes the look of a lipstick, when applied over the lip pencil.
Overall the lip pencils give a matte look.
The lip pencil lasts for 8 hours plus. It is almost transfer proof. It does transfer a little bit when freshly applied. But after it has settled, it does not transfer.
Eating meals does not take off the color either. Oily meals, however, could add a tad bit of creaminess to the lip color and thereafter it might transfer a little bit.
Overall it is very long-lasting and one can easily get away without a touch-up.
We definitely recommend investing in these lip pencils as they are super long-lasting, have a brilliant color range and have a moist-matte texture. They are brilliant substitutes for the high-end brands that do lip pencils.
