I thought of sharing with you my Hair Routine for Greasy Hair.

I legit have greasy hair all the time, and this hair routine has slowly started to make my scalp feel slightly less greasy and also just overall more healthy.

I hope you saw that video and found it helpful. When it comes to my hair, I like keeping it minimal. This means that I won’t use too many styling products, and mostly let it air dry even! So here are a few other things that I do to keep my hair healthy.

Greasy Hair Routine

Oiling

This is something that I do every once a week. Now you may feel that greasy hair may not need oiling. But I use this as a means to give my scalp primarily an extra boost of nutrients. Also, weather change and travel make scalp dry and oiling is a good means to regulate that. The oils I like to use are Coconut, Olive and Castor. I also sometimes add a Vitamin E essence from the capsule to the oil – it makes hair really soft. I sometimes also add some curry leaves to this oil and they have all kinds of benefits; right from preventing greying of hair to helping it grow really long.

Clarifying Rinses

I do these less frequently – like when I feel a lot of build up on my scalp and also when I feel like giving my hair a little bit extra! I use a lemon water rinse to get rid of build up, an apple cider vinegar rinse to soothe my sensitive scalp and a beer rinse for added volume and shine.

Scalp Massage

I do this irrespective of whether I’m applying oil to my scalp or not. The day I wash my hair, I take a couple of minutes and just gently massage the roots of my hair in a small circular motion. I do this very gently and with little pressure. The motive here is to get the blood circulation going. I also put my head towards the floor and this immediately rushes blood to the scalp.

Deep Conditioning 

Because I have colored hair, I need to do this once a week. I stick to a mask or a heavy conditioner and apply it on the lower part of my hair and leave it on for a minimum of 15 minutes. I alternatively also use a regular conditioner with some coconut oil in it, when my hair is feeling too dry.
