There’s a new level of excitement when I find a new ‘my lips but better kind of lipstick’. And may be this is why I’m so excited for writing the Holly Golightly Review – this is a beautiful earthy, rosy pink-peach shade from the Sugar Matte As Hell Lip Crayons range.
Holly Golightly Review and Swatches
Holly Golightly is a beautiful subtle, almost nude shade. For me it is pretty close to my lip color. It can be used to to wear with a strong smokey eye and also as an everyday lip color.
You can see me wear the shade here.
And here’s how the shade looks when swatched.

Color Pay Off
The lip crayon has decent color pay off. In just a couple of swipes you can see the color on the lips. However, the color is not buildable at all. The shade doesn’t appear any darker or deeper with more swipes. And the finish is a beautiful pure matte finish. It also doesn’t have any scent or fragrance.
The Holly Golightly lasts for about 4-5 hours. Once you eat something, the color does begin to fade. But since this is a nude shade, it doesn’t become all that apparent.
The Sugar Matte As Hell Lip Crayons come in a black crayon form and the outer edge of the crayon is co-ordinated as per the shade inside. The cap is black too. They also provide a sharpener which I think is great because it’s difficult to find really good sharpeners for crayons.
Do I like it?
I absolutely love the shade. I think Holly Golightly is a beautiful peachy, rose kinda shade. And so it’s perfect to wear with either really heavy eye makeup or even as an everyday lip color.
I also like that it’s really comfortable to wear – sometimes lip crayons can be a pain and they kind of make lips look even more dry and aged. And especially matte ones can totally do that. But this one doesn’t make lips look dry at first. But what I did notice is that after a few hours, it does start to peel off from the lips and if you have applied too many coats that gets a bit apparent.
I also quite like the packaging. It feels good and is easy to use. And the sharpener is an added bonus.
The shade Holly Golightly can suit Indian skin really well.

Rs.799 can be a high price – considering you get good drugstore lipsticks in this price range too.
I like this particular shade from the Sugar Matte as Hell Lip Crayon range. I do find it a bit expensive. But seeing the quality and color pay off I wouldn’t mind trying out more shades from their range.
