L’Oreal Paris La Vie En Rose : Collection Star by Sonam – Review, Swatches, Price
After the Pure Reds collection L’Oreal has come up with the La Vie en Rose collection which consists of a range of velvet matte pink lipsticks. We loved the red range and hence were so tempted to try the pink. After rigorous thinking we settled for Collection Star by Sonam which is in liquid lipstick form. Read on to find out about our thoughts on it.
L’Oreal Paris La Vie En Rose : Collection Star by Sonam
La Vie en Rose includes 7 Moist Matte (normal lipsticks), 5 Extraordinaire Matte (liquid lipsticks) and 4 Les Vernis (nail polishes).
Each shade of pink in the range, whether lipstick or nail polish, represents a particular celebrity. The nail polishes, however, vary from the lipstick shade. For example, Sonam Kapoor’s lipstick shade does not match Sonam Kapoor’s nail polish shade which is a slight downer.
The liquid lipstick is packed in a classy black bottle with ‘Collection Star by Sonam’ written and a border printed in gold. The packaging is vertical in structure with the liquid lipstick at the bottom and the applicator on top. There is a transparent opening in the front and the bottom depicting the shade. The bottle clicks open and clicks close in anti-clockwise and clockwise direction respectively.
The name of the shade is mentioned on the bottom side of the bottle. The shade we went for is ‘CPM 10 Azalea’ which is sort of like a Barbie pink shade. This shade can look great on most skin tones.

A furry yet stiff applicator is provided with the lipstick. It has a slight bend which helps in smooth and precise application. If you’re not an ‘applicator’ person then you can also use a lip brush to apply the lipstick.
Texture and Opacity
The texture of the lipstick is slippery at first but quite matte post application. The lipstick is not too matte and has a moist matte kind of effect which is ideal for someone who loves matte lips but suffers from parched lips. I always wear lip balm under lipstick and this lipstick works well with balm too. On my lips, the lipstick took about 30 minutes to come to its matte-ish form.
I have pigmented lips. Hence I needed two coats of lipstick for a completely opaque look.
The lipstick has a yummy fruit smell which is pretty long lasting.
The lipstick lasts till the time you take it off. I wore it for 9 to 10 hours and this is what it looked like.
It survived all the meals and drinks. Although, it lightens a little when you eat something oily. It is not a hundred percent transfer proof and transfers a little bit on the glass when you drink something.
Great investment indeed. The texture, the opacity, the lasting power and the ‘to die for’ shades provided at the price is a win-win. The wide variety in the shades will definitely help you find your perfect pink.
