This liquid lipstick is probably one of the best budget ones you can find in the market.
Sugar Cosmetics just launched new shades in their Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick collection and I have the shade Don Fawn from their new collection and Plum Yum from their initial launch range. These are available via online shopping either on the Sugar Cosmetics website or on sites such as Myntra, Nykaa etc.
Don Fawn is a gorgeous brown shade. It is neither too warm nor too cool, making it perfect for a lot of skin tones. In fact it’s the right kind of brown for this onset of autumn and fall makeup tones. The Sugar website describes this as a yellow brown color.
The texture of the these liquid lipsticks is not too runny, and also quite quick drying. The Sugar Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick doesn’t feel too heavy on the lips. Also you don’t need to add on too many layers, as these give a gorgeous opaque color in just a single swipe. And once they are on, they set quite quickly. And once they set, they don’t budge! The lipsticks have a nice vanilla fragrance, which is apparent yet not overpowering.
In terms of lasting power, the Sugar Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipsticks are quite good. These stay put for at least 3-4 hours without any chips or fading. And while eating or drinking something, these start to fade. But it’s not like the color becomes very visibly lighter – in fact it’s quite a subtle change. Because these are really strong, you need a powerful oil-based makeup remover or even just any oil to take these off.
Because liquid lipsticks are mostly drying, it’s best to put on a lip balm underneath. With the Sugar Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick, I highly recommend good exfoliation and moisturising prior to apply them. I notice that when I do this, the lipstick feels much better and doesn’t set into the lines on my lips. It’s not that these are the most drying lipsticks, but having hydrated lips just brings out the best in these. Also, what helps is their no budge and no bleed formula. So you may have a heavy layer of lip balm, but these lipsticks will adapt themselves beautifully and not make the lip balm apparent.
Online Shopping has literally spoilt me for choice in makeup – whether it is easy access to international brands or even just shopping Indian brands from the comfort of my home! Keeping a lot of brands available today in India in mind, it’s important to note the price point of the Sugar Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipsticks. For Rs.499 these are extremely value for money. Not only do they give good color pay off, but also a decent product size of 4.5ml. Even their packaging is quite good – they don’t look like cheap lippies, and come in a sleek cardboard box and also have a very good applicator.
I absolutely love these lipsticks and would highly recommend you to try them out.
Also, I would love to know your favorite liquid lipstick. So do let me know in the comments.
I hope you enjoyed reading this post. Stay tuned for my next one. XOXO
