TIPS on Styling a KURTI & Dress Material

If you love comfy dressing then a Kurti can be your best friend!

You can find tons of options online for ready Kurtis or you can even pick out a Dress Material and get a nice one stitched for yourself.

A Kurti is apt for summer; but if styled correctly, then can work really well in winters too. Here are my top ways for styling a Kurti.

Pair them with Jeans and Mojris

Indo-western as a trend is really edgy and if done right, it can look awesome! I love pairing a long Kurta or even a shorter Kurti with a mojri like this. So stylish, yet comfy!

Take the indo-western look to the next level by adding pretty jhumkis

Adding jhumkis that are chunky or even the very much in trend Pom-Pom earrings can really amp up a simple look. I would pick something like this.

Add some tassels

Go boho by adding some tassels to this look. I would totally add in a tan color tassel bag like the one in this picture. It looks casual yet so chic!

Add an interesting belt

You can even add a nice chain belt or any other interesting one to your look. A little clinch at the waist can give a Kurti a nice defined look.

Interesting prints

Another thing to do and this is more about purchase than styling, is to get your Kurti in interesting prints like this Ikat print. I think Ikat print has a charm of it’s own and it can look really stylish.

Layer it up

Want to sport a pretty Kurti during the winter months? Add an interesting scarf or a shawl to it and drape it beautifully. You can even pick out an nice quirky print in the scarf and it can add the right kind of zing to your look.

Get a Lucknawi work Dress Material

You can pick up a pretty Lucknawi Dress Material and tailor that to make a Kurti for yourself. These are cotton, have pretty embroidery and you can even add interesting borders and mirror work embellishments to it.

Add some pearls

Adding a classic pearl necklace can enhance the elegance of a Kurti. Add something like this and look super stylish!

Embroidered Sneakers

I think embroidered sneakers look really cool and especially with a Kurti. Try something like these to amp up your look.

Glam up with makeup

Add a statement lip or kohl rimmed eyes to amp up your simple look in a Kurti.

So these were some ideas to help you dress comfy and yet look super stylish while you wear Kurtis. I personally really enjoy wearing them because they can look dressy if you do some of the things mentioned above. So in my opinion it is a very effortless way of making a style statement!

I would love to know if you love dressing up in Indian wear, indo-western or Kurtis specifically and how you style them. Let me know in the comments below. And stay tuned for my next post.
