The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil REVIEW

Beauty Oils have been all over the beauty scene since about last year. So many YouTubers have been raving about them. So we thought of trying one ourself to see the result.

Different brands and types of facial oils are available in the market; varied as per skin type and result. The ones that we’ve noticed in stores are the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate, Josie Maran 100% pure Argan Oil and very recently The Body Shop Oils of Life Facial Oil range. We tried out the one from The Body Shop’s previous facial oil range – The Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil.

Glycine Soja (Soybean Oil), Parfum (fragrance), Tocopheryl Acetate, Benzyl Benzoate, Geraniol, Linalool, Limonene, Citronellol, Benzyl Salicylate, Eugenol, Citral, Anisyl Alcohol, Citric Acid

Soyabean Oil is naturally rich in Vitamin E and helps in the synthesis of collagen which helps in keeping ageing at bay.

Tocopheryl Acetate is also the chemical name for Vitamin E.

Geraniol is a common ingredient in cosmetics to add some fragrance to them.

Linalool also adds fragrance – particularly lavender, mint and coriander notes. It is known to not suit people with sensitive skin.

Citronellol is also a naturally occurring scent derived from plants such as rose, germanium and lemongrass.

Benzyl Salicylate is also added for fragrance.

Eugenol or Oil of Clove is usedful for fighting skin infections.

Citric Acid is found in lemons, oranges and a lot of berries and is known to stimulate collages production and help in anti-ageing.

Application

Take about 2-3 drops in your palm and apply it all over face and neck and massage until the oil gets absorbed into the skin. We used it on a cleansed and toned skin, without applying any serum or essence.  The Oil itself is transparent.

It is supposed to be used overnight, however we have been using it during the daytime too (only when indoors).

Results

Immediately post application, you will notice your skin looks a bit oily, but not extremely greasy; just a slight layer of oil all over.

With regular use of about a month, we found that skin definitely felt very nourished and healthy. The oil didn’t lead to any breakouts or sensitivity, but just didn’t end up causing any kind of dry skin which is common during winter. There is a feeling of replenishment that this oil gives to the skin.

The oil also does not feel very heavy, neither in texture not on skin. It is quite mild. However, it does have a fairly strong fragrance – almost like that of lavender going on, whic it agis alright for us.

Will be buy it again?

Of course! After using The Body Shop Vitamin E Serum-in-Oil we definitely see why everyone is going gaga over Facial Oils. We will definitely try out more facial oils. Do let us know if you use a facial oil in your skin and how do you like it by adding a comment in the comments box below.

P.S. I have oily-dry combination and hyper sensitive skin, and haven’t seen any reaction, dryness or breakouts after using this oil.
